On the upside, Finn has been put on hold for another job. I’m not going to say which company until it’s booked (yeah, I’m superstitious), but it may happen this Thursday. He loved working on the AT &T shoot, so David and I are getting behind him 100% on his dream of doing this line of work. We’re both very proud of him for going after something he wants with such determination.
David is doing some work on Alice and Isa photos for me tonight, so hopefully I’ll have a whole new selection of Vivi Dot up by Monday. Really cute patterns and new large hair clips and pins.
As for my novel, I’m in the revision stage right now. I have a hardy group of readers giving me feedback and ripping out my soul (which isn’t as heartless as it sounds) and hope to start querying mid-to-late April.
Why no pictures today? Honest answer: I looked like S***. I didn’t get out of bed until 10am, worked in the garden and wore flip flops. Not a blog-worthy look.
Yesterday was the month of March in reverse - starting like a lamb and rolling out like a lion. I started my day just running errands - the bank, a little shopping, etc. - only to experience the following:
get a call about a hurt boy
an email from said child’s agent that sent the day into a spin,
had to cancel a vendor meeting,
forgot keegan had his first tutoring session until 5 minutes before,
Finn’s skateboarding lesson,
another vendor meeting,
a last minute overnight deliver (which I needed to do ASAP because it was an anniversary present) and so on.
But despite the craziness, it was a great day. Finn booked his first job and it’s with AT&T. David and I are very proud of him. Acting and modeling isn’t something we would have chosen for our boys, but Finn started asking to do it when he was 4. After doing a few talent shows and school plays, his kindergarten teacher told us at the end of the year we should really consider letting him pursue it. So we did. His first audition resulted with him being placed “on hold” but it ended up not shooting. He didn’t get the second job, but he booked the third one. I have to hand it to him, he’s not nervous at all during go-sees and seems to enjoy the process but we’ll see how much he likes spending all day on a shoot Monday. Maybe the realization of the work involved will set in and he won’t want to do it any more.
No outfit picture today. But I’m wearing my a similar outfit to something 2 weeks ago - navy pants, green tunic and navy sweater. I have two vendor meetings today so I needed to wear a local designer outfit.
